One Flower Wednesday

Well I made it on time this week. One block finished.  This time in 30s prints.  The plan was to make this one with templates and whip stitching.  I really tried but I just can't do it.  It's awkward and my stitches show.  So just plain hand stitching it is.

Great flower! I'm piecing mine with a regular running stitch -- they're so fast to put together that way!

Cathi, it does go fast once you get the hang of it with all the corners. Lelieve, a closely spaced running stitch; a straight stitch.

Love the 30's flower!!! One day, I will make an all 30's flower garden and another day I will hand piece a flower garden! I love to hand piece, but English Paper Piecing is also fun, but not as fast as hand piecing.

I've been really loving 30's prints lately. I was in Iowa a few weeks ago and found so many cute ones at a shop there that I love!

The girls in my quilting group keep making hexagons...I want to try them, but I think they might still be a bit tricky for me :)
