Zak opened Daddy's trunk today. Before doing so the combination lock and the latches had to be thoroughly inspected. Then the big moment. (Grandma was afraid of foreign spiders and whatnot but her fears were unrealized.) As soon as the boots were out of the trunk, Zak was unhooking his shoes so he could step into Daddy's boots.

Love the pictures - Zak looks like such a big boy!
those are awesome. i never asked, was there anything interesting in the trunk? i wish i couldve been there just to see if the stuff smelled like him. probably not, but ya never know! thank u for letting zak experience that.
We didn't dig at all. It was obvious that there were some papers and letters. There were socks (didn't stink though!) and camo and holsters on the top layer. Just felt funny digging around even though he said to go ahead and open it. Next time you're down here you can have at it! It was fun seeing Zak with it.
....so very cool. Zak is a mini-Justin.
What an awesome, heart-warming, bittersweet set of pictures.

I visited Sarah's blog when she started it and in my perusing found yours. Suffice it to say, I'm addicted to all of your blogs! I lose hours at work poring over them. These pictures had me crying so hard I had to share them with my own mother.
I just figured out that you can post comments and so, because this is my favorite entry so far, here it is.
Your blog is truly incredible & wonderfully heartwarming, Mrs. Brown.
