Project Linus is a group that gives quilts, blankets and afghans to seriously ill or traumatized children. Our local quilt shop has a Project Linus day each year. Anyone is welcome to come and help make quilts to donate. Every year I plan to attend but something always seems to come up, so each year I make sure to make a quilt or two before that day so at least I can make a donation to add to their collection. Here's the fabric I selected - yikes! - kind of bright.
My strips are all cut and I'm ready to sew. I need to make 48 blocks like this one:

I like #2 and #3 the best because they aren't too predictable.

I like the randomness of #2. I like a real scrappy look for a quilt. Kudos to you for participating in Project Linus!
