Periwinkle Lane

Isn't it cute?!
This block took a long time to make.  First you trace the pattern with a Pigma pen.   Then you color with crayons - fun! Then press with paper to remove extra crayon.  Then color again, shading some areas - again, fun!  Then it's finished with hand embroidery.

Hand work is not my favorite thing because I'm so impatient.  I want to see a finished project. Now. But it's growing on me.  I sure like the end result.  The block looked pretty after it was colored and then I could see it come to life as each bit of embroidery was added.  It was a good project for sitting in front of the tv.

Only eleven more houses on Periwinkle Lane.  This neighborhood quilt may not be finished in my lifetime!

That is adorable. If I ever finish my No-Sew Block quilt, I might try something like that.

Your time and effort resulted in a great block. Can you tell me what size the block is. I couldn't find a size when I went to the website. Thanks.

HI--I want to say thanks for a couple chuckles I just got from visiting your site--I came over from Jane's site to check out the swap that is closed--but I have enjoyed myself just the same--love your block and all the hard work you put into it and I love what you said in your profile--"computer time waster"--so true--YET--look at all the fun and friends we have gained and all the new quilt knowledge--and even some "knowledge" that we may not have wanted to Hear or learn?????
Have a wonderful day--Hugs, Di&co.

It's very sweet but as I never sit & watch the telly it would never get done in my lifetime, never get started LOL!

You do such good work! Everything you do is perfect Looks like you are inspiring a lot of others to try this technique, including me. I'm wondering about the crayons, too. Crayolas?

super, super cute. Love all that embroidery. I'm working on something similar without the crayons...I really like the added color!

So I looked at the square and thought I can color. Maybe I should start quilting. I'm sure I can do a square quilt with crooked lines and eventually I will get better. Then reality set in. Sure when would you do this before or after cooking, cleaning, driving, grading, planning, homework, etc. Bottom line- maybe later

These are very pretty. I like the crayon and embroidery combination, but most of the blocks I"ve seen are too "vintage" for my taste. I like these a lot!
