One Way or Another, The Tree Will Go Up

So if I quilt this, bind it and hang it on the wall, can I say my tree is up and be done with it all?

Actually this large lap sized quilt is heading to a 'local' hospice, but when I took a picture it got me to thinking.  It'd be easier (and more fun) to make another one than to drag out the tree and the lights and the garland and the ornaments and put it all up.  bah humbug.

Or I could spike the eggnog.  That'll put me in the mood to decorate!

We always struggle with the idea of a tree since we are gone for two weeks+. For years I bought a live tree in a pot, when needed, and then put it outdoors for the rest of the year. It would last a few years then look scragely and I would buy another. Last year Penny made a tree on the wall with lights. Great improvement, except she couldn't hang all her ornaments. She wants an artificial tree and now that I've reluctantly agreed, she can't find one with out lights. She takes pleasure in putting the lights on. Go figure. Pen is out of town right now. Actually she is way out of town on a cruise to Mexico with cousins! I thought I would put some of the easier christmas stuff out tomorrow. I had an especially easy day at work, paid someone to clean the house and got a massage. Thought about taking myself out for dinner too and decided to make a big ole stir fry instead. Well I should study my Spanish and head to bed. See you soon. Love, Pat

Go for spiking the Eggnog! Then you won't really care if or when the tree gets up!

One year we did an evergreen garland, added lights, and then hung the ornaments on that.

Yes....a wall hanging would be just fine.
